Mani Stones

Mani stones seen enroute to Mount Everest in the Khumbu region in Nepal. Mani stones are stone plates, rocks and/or pebbles, carved or inscribed with the six syllabled mantra of Avalokiteshvara (Om mani padme hum, hence the name “Mani stone”), as a form of prayer in Tibetan Buddhism. Mani stones are intentionally placed along the roadsides and rivers or placed together to form mounds or cairns or sometimes long walls, as an offering to spirits of place or genius loci.

Prices are for print only, and do not include framing or mounting. All of our prints have a 1.5″ to 2″ white border that will then fit into the specified frame sizes.
